Our first issue presented an opportunity to try and define ourselves, so we tried, and we did. Here you will find an epic new “historomantic” meditation on Maxo Vanka, as told (directed, perhaps?) by the esteemed Richard Blevins; elements of domestic horror and religious history united—in ways, trust us, other than the ones you’re imagining now—in the verse of Laurie Mazzaferro; “Talking Long Distance,” in which Rina Ferrarelli takes the slightest of scenarios and molds it into an emotional monolith; and eight poems from the prolific David Baratier’s faux-found series, “Estrella’s Prophecies.”
